Here’s the back of the reflective beetle I posted a picture of recently. (Actually, it’s a different beetle, but it’s the same kind of beetle.) I’m guessing camoflage isn’t this insect’s defense mechanism.

Woodlice (potato bugs, pill bugs, roley poleys, etc.) are very interesting looking critters. I have evidence.

Last night I saw this bug on a window, so naturally I snapped a few photos. I like how this one turned out. The actual bug is overexposed, but I think it works out because of the reflections. This is what it looked like before I cleaned it up.

I killed it. I feel bad. Seriously. My son kept asking me **why** I killed this spider. (Pictures.)

We have a lot of spiders around our house right now. Fortunately, they have been extremely cooperative as models. (Pictures)
